Dian Erra Kumalasari, known as Dian Oerip, is an alumnus of Malang State Polytechnic from the Department of Chemical Engineering. Her name is well known as a fashion designer of woven fabrics from all over Indonesia under the brand “Oerip Indonesia”.
“Initially, I was a housewife who had a hobby of collecting woven fabrics. At that time, I didn’t have many fabrics, I got them from my mother, grandmother, and friends. From the existing fabrics, I designed, sewed, took photos, and uploaded them on Facebook,” said the 1999 POLINEMA alumni.
From her perseverance, in 2014 Oerip Indonesia was invited to America for a fashion show. At the event, Dian was covered by Voice of America, which made her work famous in Europe. Dian was invited to Europe. Since then, Dian Oerip’s work has become famous overseas.
