Collaboration Class Program
The rapid development of the industry demands the production of competent graduates ready to apply their knowledge in the workforce. To meet the industry’s demand for competent labor, Polinema implements a partnership education system known as collaborative classes.
PLN Class
This is a collaboration class between Polinema and PLN (Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company). The PLN partnership class is held in electrical engineering programs and mechanical engineering departments. Graduates of the PLN collaboration class hold the title of ‘Ahli Madya’ (A.Md), equivalent to a Diploma 3. In the PLN collaboration class, students pay tuition fees, but PLN provides facilities such as living allowances and expenses during the Internship Program (PKL) conducted in the fifth semester. Moreover, PLN offers scholarships to high-achieving students throughout their education at Polinema.
GMF Class
The market for aircraft maintenance and repair services is rapidly growing in the ASEAN region, particularly in Indonesia. PT. GMF AeroAsia Tbk. is the largest aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service provider in Indonesia, with a vision to become one of the top 10 MRO companies globally by 2020. In its business expansion efforts, PT. GMF AeroAsia Tbk. collaborated with the State Polytechnic of Malang (Politeknik Negeri Malang) to establish an industry collaboration class with a binding contract in the Airframe Powerplant (AP) field under the Diploma III Program in Mechanical Engineering.
The curriculum for this industry collaboration class was jointly developed by PT. GMF AeroAsia Tbk. and Polinema to meet civil aviation safety regulations (Civil Aviation Safety Regulation, ASR) and higher education standards. Graduates of this program will obtain a D III diploma and a Basic Aircraft Maintenance (BAM) Certificate according to CASR 65, recognized internationally as the foundation for work and assurance for further formal/non-formal education at higher levels.
Prospective students are selected jointly by PT. GMF AeroAsia Tbk. and Polinema. Graduates are directly employed as technicians at PT. GMF AeroAsia Tbk. or at PT. Garuda Daya Pratama Sejahtera, a subsidiary of PT. GMF AeroAsia Tbk.
