Polinema divides the fields of study into two categories, namely engineering sciences and business sciences. In its implementation, each field of study is further elaborated at the department and study program levels for Diploma III, applied bachelor’s, and applied master’s degrees.

Polinema conducts several admission pathways for new students, including:

1. 1. National Selection for State Higher Education Admission (SNMPTN) for Diploma IV level
2. National Selection for State Polytechnic Admission (SNMPN) for Diploma III level
3. Joint Selection for State Higher Education Admission (SBMPTN – UTBK) for Diploma IV level
4. Joint Selection for State Polytechnic Admission (SBMPN) for Diploma III level
5. Independent Pathway for Diploma III and Diploma IV levels
